Do You Know Him?

Do you?

Author: Saleama A. Ruvalcaba

For the past two years I have witnessed tragedy after tragedy in the lives of people in my very close circles.

Have you ever seen The Ten Commandments with Charleston Heston? Towards the end of the movie, when the tenth plague is circulating Egypt,(people dying all around them) Moses’ sister Mariam cries out “Death is all around us!”

That is honestly how I feel most days. We have not gone one month, in the past two years, without something tragic happening to people we know; Covid deaths, baby deaths, killed in car accidents, total loss house fire. With so much happening every single day all around the world, I asked myself – do I really know you Jesus? I asked my children the same question.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. It’s written as plain as day in the Bible. John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. It does not mean horrible things are happening to people because they don’t know Jesus Christ and that they allowed Satan to destroy their lives. But – when we know there is an enemy who is after our lives, we are better prepared – through prayer – to seek God’s wisdom for answers. We also know if something tragic does happen to us – we know we will spend eternity with our Lord and Savior.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ – then you likely don’t know there is a ruthless enemy who wants to destroy your life, your husband’s life, your children’s life!

We live in a fallen world and bad things will happen. We cannot stop it. But you have the power to fight back through prayer, and God’s Word.

So I ask again?

Do you know Him? Do you really know Him?

If not, invite Him into your life today.

Here is the rest of John 10:10; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
