Is God Allowing America…

To Be Destroyed?

Author: Saleama A. Ruvalcaba, MATS

Joel 2:25, “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm —my great army that I sent among you.”

It is so very important to not take the book of Joel out of context and simply apply it to our lives today. However, there are so many similarities to what the Jews endured and what our nation is going through today. The locust plague was devastating, but the prophet Joel warned the Jews that if they did not repent with all sincerity, then the locust plague would be nothing compared to what would come.

I can’t help but think of America today.

I can’t help but think of the incredible sin we live.

Corruption.

Abortion.

Greed.

Hatred.

…to name a few!

Why would God spare America from the evil we relish in daily if He didn’t even spare His people – the Jews – for their evil?

Do we take God for granted?

Do we think we are highly favored?

Oh, sinners wake up!

We are all guilty because we live in this world enjoying it and we don’t do enough to combat the evil!

We don’t!

You might pat yourself on the back and think of yourself “holier than thou” for all you do (even that is sin) but don’t think too highly on yourself. You don’t do enough – none of us do!

But if we repent – truly repent from our evil ways – God says He will restore our land. He will restore us to Himself.

Don’t think this world will get better in time – it won’t. We must be people who have repented hearts.

We must take God seriously.

Pray. Pray. Pray.

Pray – for God to forgive you, me – America.
